The Oxford International Public Speaking Competition (OIPSC) is a prestigious event that gathers young speakers from around the world to demonstrate their oratory skills, improve their communication abilities, and engage in cross-cultural exchanges.


Participants must be between 12 and 19 years old and currently enrolled in a school or home-education equivalent at the time of the competition.


The competition will take place from 11th to 20th August 2024 at the Examination Schools, University of Oxford.


All participants must use English for their speeches and communications during the competition. Fluency in both spoken and written English is expected.


Participants will develop valuable skills in public speaking, critical thinking, leadership, and cross-cultural communication. They will also receive official certificates and potential recommendation letters from distinguished judges.


The judging panel includes Oxford University professors, former chairpersons of the Oxford Union, and other esteemed scholars and public figures who provide high-level feedback and evaluations.


Yes, participants can earn official certificates, recommendation letters, and various awards such as Best Speaker, Most Creative Speech, and more to highlight their exceptional skills.


The competition schedule includes:

• Day 1: Arrival and registration at Oxford University

• Day 2: Public speaking training and expert lectures

• Day 3: Preliminary rounds of the competition

• Day 4: Semifinals and expert lectures on university interview techniques

• Day 5: Final round, awards ceremony, and farewell dinner

• Days 6-10: Cultural tour around the UK


The full registration fee, including all UK travel expenses, is 5,500 GBP for 10 days and 9 nights. There is also a competition-only option for 3,500 GBP covering 6 days and 5 nights.


Participants will explore historical and cultural sites such as Shakespeare’s Birthplace, the University of Cambridge, and major landmarks in London, enhancing their global perspective and cultural understanding.


Students can register with us through our dedicated online enrolment portal. The deadline for registration is 10th July 2024.
